How to Brew Whole-Flower Teas

Because you are brewing whole, dense blossoms rather than delicate leaf tips, herbal teas require a slightly different approach to fully extract their essential oils.

Water Temperature: Use fully boiling water (100°C / 212°F). The high heat is necessary to break down the natural plant structures and release the rich flavors and nutrients.
The Vessel: A clear glass teapot or a large glass mug is highly recommended. Half the joy of these specific teas is visual—watching a Golden Silk Chrysanthemum slowly unfurl its hundreds of petals is a meditative experience in itself.
Steep Time: Pour the boiling water directly over the blossom and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes. These high-quality flowers can be re-steeped multiple times. For an added touch of sweetness, wait until the tea cools slightly and stir in a spoonful of natural rock sugar or raw honey.
